How we do it ?
I have the same question, I found nothing to force FDM to in a different folder than the original one.
Thanks to give details if there is a way to do that.
I'm on Windows 10 Pro.

Hello,
Currently, you can only change the folder by selecting it when adding the files manually (the "..." icon in the window where you add s). It has to be done each time you add a .

In Windows, which can run FDM 5/6, you don't need to do any change in any browser or manager. "s" is provided by the system as a -defined folder which can be managed using Windows Explorer. Just follow the instruction provided by How-To Geek site:
https://www.howtogeek.com/273618/how-do ... load-path/
Of course, there are more possible solutions, see the Google search results:
https://www.google.com/search?q=change+ ... in+Windows
If you are afraid that some program may ignore such a change, you can redirect default folder to another location using mklink /j command to create junction. See MS docs:
https://docs.microsoft.com/pl-pl/window ... #junctions
https://docs.microsoft.com/pl-pl/window ... nds/mklink

Re: How to change default folder (directory)? j1j1k
Left-click the Free Manager (FDM) extension icon in the top right of your browser.
Click Options
Un-check "Start ing without confirmation"
Close this window.
Now left-click on a video link and a pop-up will show.
You will see Save to, and click the 3 dots to the right of it.
Choose your folder
Click
Now you can go back to Options and check "Start ing without confirmation" to have one click ing straight to your new default folder.
Good luck!

It;s been explained more than once that it's NOT a default folder, it's last used folder. Default folder won't change when you some file to another folder.laz wrote:ing straight to your new default folder.

That's not exactly setting the new folder, but it's a solution, in a way.

Re: How to change default folder (directory)? j1j1k
This has been debated for quite some time now.
You have made your position clear. This option to allow the to determine a "default" FDM (unrelated to the system folder) folder of "their" choosing will not be considered.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't ever reading an explanation why?
I don't want my FDM default folder to be the same as my default system folder. There are plenty programs that allow the to make this choice, not to mention earlier versions of FDM.
Is it because it simply can't be done? If so, fine. End of conversation. lock this thread and every time the subject comes up, refer them here.
But if it can be done not, what would be the harm.
I think you could end this discussion period with a simple explanation, one way or the other, even if the answer is just "we don't want to do it".
thanks

Hi guys;
It's my experience about changing folder:
when you click on "free Manager">>>>" video", a page appear: "New File". First option is "Save to". The right side of it, there are there dot ... you can open it to choose your favorite folder.
Your other will to that folder unless you change it again.
