The same problem here.
Some times, specially when I start Chrome, I lost active pages because I am redirect to:
chrome-extension://ahmpjcflkgiildlgicmcieglgoilbfdp/
And receive page error:
"
This page of web can not be found:
ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
Ocultar detalhes
None page of web was found to web address chrome-extension://ahmpjcflkgiildlgicmcieglgoilbfdp/
"
When I desactived Free Manager everithing go normal.
I was Think that is because my FDM is 3.9 and I updated to Preview version, reinstall FDM extension on Chrome, but the same problem.
Now I desactivate FDM until the problem is solved.

It is not a problem with FDM, it is FDM that discovers problems with your system. Are you sure you have no malware installed? See http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/it-sec ... ng-device/
Speech API is available in Google Chrome from January/February 2014 (Chrome 33, see https://developers.google.com/web/updat ... thesis-API ), and s Portuguese from March 2014 (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Te ... March_2014 ). Web speech API uses Javascript and HTML5 and curently may be available as a web app (f.e. screen reader) on many websites.
Does the problem occurs on some specific webpages only? Could you provide links for such sites, please? Can you turn off Javascript for those sites?
Do you have problems when you log out from all your Google activities?
Do you to Google as the same on your smartphone and PC?
Do you take part in any Google tests?

Re: Chrome extension interacts with Speech API 6r445k
Only google.com[:443] can access mic/webcam.
The problem is not the same page, it´s random page or time.
Ever redirect current page to the link: chrome-extension://ahmpjcflkgiildlgicmcieglgoilbfdp/
Where will goto not found.
Beucase this is a developer machine and you know how much work here to leave ready, I try to not format, but at your request I will schedule to cleanup and will check again.

Re: Chrome extension interacts with Speech API 6r445k
Hello I have the same problem here. It has been bugging me for days. It randomly redirect to chrome-extension://ahmpjcflkgiildlgicmcieglgoilbfdp/ which has a Free Manager icon and the Popup appears with the URL from googleapis.com/afiiliation.
I was reinstalling my Windows 10 and install Free Manager the first time after I install Chrome on my newly-installed system. So I'm pretty sure the system was clean. Yet the problem comes up after I install FDM. And everytime I turn off the FDM extension in Chrome the browser never redirect to that page randomly. I think there's something wrong with the extension integration here. Anyway here's my list of Chrome Extensions if it could help:
- Bookmark Manager
- Cryptocat
- Free Manager Chrome extension
- Google Docs Offline
- Google Keep - notes and lists
- Google Play Movies & TV
- Google Play Music
- Google Sheets
- Google Slides
- Google Translate
- Journey (Diary, Journal)
- LastPas: Free Manager
- OneNote Clipper
- Pocket
- Postman (3.1.6)
- Postman Interceptor (0.2.13)
- Pushbullet
- Save to Pocket
- Search by Image (by Google)
- StayFocusd
- Sunrise Calendar
- The Great Suspender
That's all the extensions I have. If there's anything else I can help please just ask, I really want this problem to solve, it's really bugging me everytime I browse through chrome and it randomly redirects to that page.
Oh and sometimes if I remove or turn off the Chrome integration then reinstall the extension again the problem doesn't appear for some time, maybe about one day the problem doesn't apear, but the day after it the problem appears again. Weird.
Thanks.

Re: Chrome extension interacts with Speech API 6r445k
I'm pretty sure that Google Translate in Chrome uses SpeechAPI so it is enabled in your browser. I don't use Chrome so I can only guess that Google tries to promote this API and Chrome may activate it for any action that plays sound in your browser: Google Play, flash player, video in HTML5, stupid ads, FDM playing sounds for notifications, etc. There are NO random redirects, you just don't know what to observe, how to find the real cause.

Nope, I have tried to disable every extension except FDM and the problem still exists. So I'm pretty sure it's not the problem with the other extensions.
Re: Chrome extension interacts with Speech API 6r445k
I have just tested sample client (web browser) apps running Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF3). It seems that SpeechAPI is enabled by default globally in the browser, not per extension only. You can see mic icon for speech input even for Google Search.
I think that SpeechAPI must be globally disabled in Chrome so you should better ask some Google/Chrome/Chromium forum how to do it. See for example:
https://.google.com/websearch/an ... 0020?hl=en
https://.google.com/websearch/an ... hl=en&rd=2
Of course, FDM extension for Chrome should be fixed to ignore Speech API calls, but if you don't use Speech API, turn it off for security reasons, as I mentioned earlier.

Same problem here...
My Chrome does not have the checkbox to turn voice search off.

Re: Chrome extension interacts with Speech API 6r445k
Please anyone give some more info to reproduce the issue. I have enabled Speech API and allowed access to my microfone (e.g. on google.com) a few days ago, everything still works perfectly, no weird redirects.
Re: Chrome extension interacts with Speech API 6r445k
The problem may be caused by more reasons than improperly used SpechAPI. It seems that FDM tries to catch some unexpected/silent s that may be done by mistake/stupidity of some /web developer/programmer/coder or by malicious software (read about Hanlon's razor for clasifying of possible reasons).
So there may be many reasons not related directly to SpeechAPI:
- Any Chrome extension trying to autoupdate rather than to redirect to Chrome Web Store. Make sure all your Chrome extensions (including FDM's one) are installed and updated from Chrome Web Store.
- Any code on web page (may be in ads) trying to install some extension rather than to redirect to Chrome Web Store.
- Misconfigured web server that does NOT use proper MIME types for some files. in such case FDM may catch links for some files that normally should be used by the web browser to properly render the web page.
- Some antivirus/antimalware/adblocking software preventing FDM extension from proper interaction with a web page, f.e. blocking it when trying to preload and scan/change files linked on the web page on the fly.
- Malware trying to silently and install its own update or other malicious pieces of code.
Those actions may be invoked when clicking some link or hovering some area on a webpage, but some may be also started when ing this webpage. Redirections to FDM may be seen with "random" delay caused by time needed to and parse the code. Some actions may be customized/personalized and related to specific OS/ISP/country etc.
Note that you are still refusing to be more helpful and provide any links or name any specific extension/app/AV software so these hints are theoretical and may not be helpful enough. DO help us to help you, please.

Hello! Could you give us sample URLs where you encountered the issue?
Besides, please try to disable other extensions within the browser and turn off the microphone access by going to Settings > Privacy > Content settings... > Microphone > Do not allow sites to access your microphone. After that, reproduce the problem to see if it changed the situation.

so far, i have not been able to pin down any particular URL/type of site which triggers this. it happens randomly.
however, i will try your fix and report back in a few minutes.
