Not sure if bug or link problem..but here goes I go to use FDM 3.9.2 to a link that it captures automatically but the problem becomes it doesn't know what kinda file and which folder to create to store it in?

I a mkb, avi, mp4 but it still tries to put it into the main folder instead of creating a folder ... /Video I have to check the group to make sure the goes to the right folder in the Group. I am including a screen shot with comments on it.

I will uninstall and reinstall to see if the problem goes away or still persists?

Well reporting back. The problem I listed will fix itself but there is one thing one must do...

1. Uninstall all previous Free Manager and remove all previous preferences.

After I did that and rebooted and then reinstall FDM 3.9.2 and then went back to and but before this I did do my customization of the features and then did a to test whether the problem was gone or was still there. And I can atest from my uninstall and reinstall with the newer version now correctly and places in the right folders. So anyone ing FDM 3.9.2 must UNINSTALL any previous verison FDM and reboot and reinstall the new version to prevent any problems associated with a prior version from affecting a newer install. Hopefully this experience helps others.

This FDM 3.9.2 build 1281 didn't have much improvement on Firefox. The screen still freezes (message says Firefox not responding) temporarily for about 15-20 seconds when there's a flash video present on a site.

Am I the only one experiencing this problem? I have already formatted and reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and all applications. I got a quad core Intel U, 4GB RAM, 1.5TB HDD and a fairly decent AMD graphics card. I don't think it's the hardware as Firefox doesn't freeze when the FDM add-on is disabled.

1. Can you describe freezing more detaily? In my case it is only Firefox window that goes blank when I leave FDM "Add " dialog window on the screen for a long time (several seconds). In this case Firefox is really not responding because it's waiting for my choice.
It's no wonder to me - Firefox without add-ons opens a new blank tab in many cases when starting . I haven't observed freezing of any other part of screen outside of Firefox window. And it's Firefox design that causes it not responding - it runs all tabs in a single process. See this discussion: "Web browser with separate processes for each tab".
2. In general screen freezing may be caused by bugs in some video drivers - your graphic card drivers, Flash player, browser or any other software using hardware video acceleration. Try to turn off hardware acceleration in Flash player or Firefox and report if it helps.

I know that FF sometimes would open an extra and blank Tab if a link is clicked. That's not my case. I'm simply browsing a page that has a flash video (any site that has a flash video). In some cases, it also happens when there are PDF pages.

Yes it occurs more often when there are several tabs open with flash videos on most of them but that doesn't happen when the FDM plug-in is disabled. That's why I'm pretty sure it is FDM that is causing FF to lag or temporarily freeze, you know that light blue circle that replaces the mouse cursor and keeps rotating inside the FF window, not the one on the Tab. Right next to the orange FF tab, a message will appear saying 'not responding' at the same time. It happens for about 15-20 secs and goes back to normal after that. However, once I switch to another tab, there goes the 'not responding' message and that rotating circle in the middle of the page again.

I checked my RAM usage and it is only 46% of 4GB with FF taking up only half a gig or less than 25% of my 4GB RAM.

Not that this issue started when FF came up with version 15.x and has continued up to 17.x

I've observed this on two different desktop computers already -- one at home, the other at the office. Both of them have decent hardware setup.

By the way, I'm not a computer noob, in case you think I may have been missing something. There is really something wrong with FDM or its compatibility with FF. I didn't need to do any tweak like disabling hardware acceleration in the Flash Player or anything before.

It doesn't do this when I use IE with the FDM plug-in on IE enabled. I haven't tried this on Google Chrome as that browser is not my type. I'm a FF die-hard and I only use IE if FF keeps freezing on me and I have no other choice.

Pardon me, but do you have problems with FF not responding similar to mine when there's a flash video on a website? I've been experiencing this since FF v.15 and is still bothering me.

I am so doubtful now

I'm using Windows 7 Pro SP1, IE10 Version 10.0.9200.16439

I FDM ver. 3.9.2 build 1281 today. The auto update does not work. After I manually install, the software keeps shutting down my PC at the moment that the ed file will be created!!! It happens 90% of the time I ed a file.

Afterthat the history is gone as if the file was not ed. However when I re using FDM again, the software created a new file name with (1).

There is no file appear on the folder I use for the file to be stored.

When I by FDM, my browser did say the file does exist (somewhere at unknown universe because I cannot see it)

:( :( :(

So I uninstall the tool, no knowing how to resolve it. I suspect if I reinstall FDM again, it probably will crash my whole PC due to shutdown without notified. Totally is a disppointed after use it for years.

The new 3.9.2 ed and installed itself automatically after the last time I rebooted.

I made no changes to my configuration. But I am experiencing the same phenomenon that other posters are reporting: s seem to be limited to 2 sections now.

@Alex
The latest 3.9.2 doesn't have italian translation update.
I sent it some months ago.
Please check your email, and apply the update of italian language.
Thanks.

I let FDM update 3.9.1 1249 Lite to 3.9.2 and was updated to the full featured one not the Lite I was using. I removed it, DLed and installed the Lite installer and it seems to run fine in very minimal testing. I had no trouble getting 20 connections (using Tview to see the ports). Enjoy, J.

i had the same issue... after automatic update from 3.9.1 (3.9.1 RC build 1275) to 3.9.2 i got the problem, that ALL s were done with only two sections... during the there wasn't any log, that more sections were intended (but just before the was finished, an empty [Section 3 Done] was listed). all settings were like in 3.9.1.
after i uninstalled 3.9.2, deleted the "regedit" entry of FreeManager and the %AppData%\FreeManager folder, and reinstalled the 3.9.2 again manually, the same s are having more than 2 sections like with the previous version 3.9.1

The stuck on 2 sections problem has shown up again. I found restarting FDM is a workaround. Don't know how to reproduce the problem.
