I have the "Save as..." button checked within preferences however when I a video, I only see the "" button when using the "new " dialog box. What am I missing? How do I use that option?

Why ask if you don't need it? Just do not enable it in the options. We've added it due to the numerous requests from our s.
By the way. It depends on your settings. By default, FDM will rename a new in case the same file exists already. But if you use this feature - it will overwrite (for this only).
