Same DL list on 2 separate OS possible? 475x4d
Hello,
I'm using FDM 3.9.6 1614 on Win7 x86 & also on Win7 x64 on the same machine, (I'm swapping back & forth because of some apps there...)
I would like to know if (and how) it's possible so that I may run the same install of FDM on both OS with FDM using the same dl list. As of now, I'm using FDM to dl lots of free music and the list of finished stuff together with FDM checking on previous s is immensely helpful, otherwise I'd had to do that manually.
The install of FDM is located on the x86 partition. If I start it from the x64 OS it'll run just fine, but there's no list of previous or current s, nothing is there.
So my conclusion is that this list must be stored somewhere outside the installations-folder, but I'm not able to find it. And that perhaps, the changing of "C:" to another prefix (when the x64 partition gets labelled as "C:") may cause an internal link to not work anymore. (?)
Any ideas how to solve this?

I think symlinks should help. You need to make a symlink in %APPDATA%, name it "Free Manager" and point it to the same folder on another partition. Your list of s, history etc. are there, in hidden files.
Your target folder where you store your music should have the same path on both systems. If it's not so, you should make a symlink the same way. E.g. if one system s to its "C:\s\", you to another system and make a symlink "C:\s" pointing to that "original" partition.

Thanks for your reply.
Symlinks didn't help but I still was able to figure out - from some infos out your posting - how to make it to work.
In short, all the -data regarding dl-list, history etc was stored outside the installations-folder (you can change the place manually in options) but these links were broken. Changing the directory fixed that. I was not even aware of their existance since they are hidden, so I never noticed them.
Thanks again for your time & effort
